Merrell Bros., Inc. was contracted to dredge, dewater and transport the biosolids from the North Pole wastewater lagoon. Merrell Bros. transported their equipment to Seattle, which was loaded on a cargo ship and sailed to Anchorage, Alaska. The project used an Ashbrook Filter Belt Press, IMS 5012 Hydraulic Dredge, mix tank and generator to produce our own power. Merrell Bros. performed the trucking in North Pole and transported the cake to a City temporary storage site. Merrell Bros. designed a unique cutter head for the IMS-5012 dredge that would not tear the HDPE liner in the lagoon.
