Merrell Bros., Inc. was contracted to remove, dewater, transport, and dispose of sludge from the basins at each plant. An OSHA trained Confined Space Entry Team was used for this project. We utilized (3) mobile Ashbrook belt filter presses, (1) 18,000-gallon mobile equalization/mix tank and (2) semis and conveyor bottom trailers. All sludge was disposed at the Republic Services Newton County Landfill.
