Engineering & Innovation
Design It. Build It. See It Work.Engineering the Future of Biosolids Management
Across the country, wastewater facilities are facing increasing pressure:
- Rising disposal and transportation costs
- Tightening environmental regulations
- Aging infrastructure
- Limited long-term solutions
Our engineering team works together to solve these problems, not in theory, but through deployable, scalable systems that work in the real world.
From concept to commissioning, our engineers turn complex challenges into working infrastructure.
Turning Ideas Into Reality
Our engineers are directly involved in designing, building, testing, and improving the systems we create and deploy internally at Merrell Bros..
Here, you don’t just design, you see your work operating in the field.
- Work moves from concept to real-world implementation
- Direct collaboration across teams
- Exposure to full lifecycle engineering
- Opportunity to influence patented technology development
A Culture Built on Ownership and Impact
At Merrell Bros., engineering is not limited to design. We build systems that are tested, deployed, and operating in the real world. From early concepts to full-scale implementation, our engineers are involved every step of the way.
We work on problems that matter, alongside people who know how to execute. There is a shared sense of purpose in what we do. We take ownership, follow work through from idea to operation, and take pride in seeing it perform in the field.
This is not theoretical work. It is engineering that creates lasting impact for communities and a more sustainable world for all.
Open Engineering Roles
Mechanical Engineer
Design and develop new mechanical systems, components, and solutions for existing and new equipment.
Environmental Technology Electrical Engineer
Design and develop electrical power distribution, control panels, and automation systems for Merrell Bros. equipment and projects.
Our Technologies, Engineered In-House
Our patented technologies are developed by our internal R&D and engineering teams and deployed across real-world facilities. Each system is designed to solve a specific challenge in biosolids management.

Solar-Thermal Pasteurization uses enclosed greenhouse drying and a specialized oven system to dry out biosolids, significantly reducing transportation costs while creating a safe, Class A fertilizer product.

Pelletization turns biosolids into clean, uniform fertilizer pellets for efficient storage and distribution. Our pelletization system connects to any wastewater plant with existing dewatering capabilities.

Double Drum Drying uses steam-heated rotating drums and a specialized oven system to dry out biosolids, significantly reducing transportation costs while creating a safe, Class A fertilizer product.

Reverse Osmosis uses high-pressure membrane filtration to remove contaminants and recover clean water, reducing waste and improving overall system efficiency while supporting sustainable operations.
Designed for Engineering and Innovation
Our headquarters and facilities are built to support rapid development, testing, and deployment. From R&D labs to full-scale systems, engineers have access to the tools and environments needed to bring ideas to life.
Innovation We Built. Innovation We Protect.
